Salesforce’s Einstein adds velocity to its Sales Cloud

The CRM-based company boosts features to help salespeople close deals -- including on-board predictive scoring.

In the most famous formula ever written, the real Einstein understood that the speed of light drives the amount of energy you can produce.

Today, Salesforce is using its new Einstein layer of artificial intelligence (AI) to drive the speed of deal closings. Albert probably could have created a formula for that.

Called the Einstein High Velocity Sales Cloud, this updated version of its existing Sales Cloud offers several new features.

Key among them: for the first time, Salesforce will have on-board predictive lead scoring in a new Einstein Lead Scoring that automatically shows leads and related info about why they are likely to convert. Previously, the platform generated predictive scoring of customers and leads via integrated partners from its AppExhange.

This new built-in capability, VP of Product Management Pratima Arora told me, has the advantage over integrated versions because it is meshed with the data and features from the entire Salesforce end-to-end platform. Here’s a new Lead Scoring screen:

There’s also a new Einstein Activity Capture. It automatically captures interactions with customers from the linked email and calendar accounts of the platform’s users, compared to the previous need to enter this kind of data transfer manually.

An updated Lightning Sales Console now offers one customized workspace where all applications in the Sales Cloud are integrated, such as the lead list, instead of having to call up each one on a separate screen.

And a Lightning Dialer boosts the existing power dialer so that the salesperson can go from one computer-based phone call to another without loading each new person. Now, it automatically presents a list of the top calls to make.

In Salesforce Engage, there are new notifications that show inside the Sales Console or in the Salesforce1 app when a prospect is on your website, along with the prospect’s profile info.

To help get sales folk up to speed, Salesforce’s free Trailhead online learning platform is now offering new “trails” that teach about AI.
