There’s some apparent good news for Windows Phones in comScore’s latest mobile market share data report. After steady declines month over month, the Microsoft OS appears to have gained share modestly, moving up from 3.9 percent to 4 percent. However comScore also reported Microsoft’s OS share as 4 percent last month, so it’s not clear if the gains are real.
On a percentage basis Apple gained the most in the past three months, followed by Android — their relative shares in the US market are largely unchanged. According to comScore’s data 47 percent of mobile subscribers 13 years and older had smartphones. Nielsen and Pew have pegged the number at more than 50 percent since Q1.
Web analytics firm StatCounter indicates that the combined iOS (iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone) US share is 50.2 percent vs. Android’s 39.7 percent.
According to the StatCounter data Windows had a 1.02 percent share in June, down slightly from the month before.
