Good morning, Marketers, and humanitarian efforts are underway.

Yes, people are still talking about personalization, attribution and an integrated marketing technology stack, but for the present a different topic is dominating conversations in the marketing and marketing operations communities. What can be done to help Ukraine?

Here are some initiatives I came across and there are doubtless many more. Omnichannel comms company MessageBird (owner of email platform SparkPost), launched a $10 million NGO fund to provide a platform to help coordinate humanitarian efforts from the global technology community. Netherlands-based, MessageBird has a hub and employees in Ukraine.

Sales enablement platform Outreach has announced it will no longer do business with Russian-based companies. CEO Manny Medina said: “While this is a small action, it is a principled one.”

Grammarly, the online writing assistant, was founded in Ukraine. CEO Brad Hoover said: “I’ve had the privilege of getting to know its vibrant culture and kind people over the past decade — that includes many of our resilient, unstoppable team members who are yet again facing stress and uncertainty.”

Wix team members from Lithuania drove to the Poland-Ukraine border, and along with Polish team members helped bring their Ukraine-based colleagues to safety.

Kim Davis is currently editor at large at MarTech. Born in London, but a New Yorker for almost three decades, Kim started covering enterprise software ten years ago. His experience encompasses SaaS for the enterprise, digital- ad data-driven urban planning, and applications of SaaS, digital technology, and data in the marketing space.
