more advertisers to run facebook video ads than youtube 2015, mixpo A recent survey from video advertising technology company Mixpo found that Facebook video could overtake YouTube as the top video advertising platform in 2015.

The survey of 125 agencies, brands and publishers, 87 percent said they are planning to run Facebook video ad campaigns, compared to 81.5 percent on YouTube, as illustrated in the chart above. Knocking YouTube out of the leader position is a big shift and underscores the power of Facebook’s in-stream video ad placements.

The rising popularity and availability of video advertising on social platforms is also evident in the Mixpo survey. Marketers indicated that they plan to run more video advertising across all networks, including Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Tumblr and others in 2015.

The number of advertisers that said they don’t plan any video advertising in 2015 fell to near-nothing (or to the level that Snapchat and Pinterest video held in 2014).
