New Mobile Pages Substantiate That Instagram Isn’t Just An App

When Istagram launched, users had to be iPhone toting users who downloaded the app. Since then, an Android app has launched, and a web presence has been created — making the service much more than just an app. Today, Instagram announced new mobile photo pages, even furthering their stake as a full well-rounded social network.
Logged in friends who click on an Instagram link will now be able to like and comment on photos, directly from the browser. Users will also be able to jump right into the Instagram app for a native experience by clicking on the “Open In App” button in the upper right. Once in the app, users will be able to see other photos, profile info and more.
