If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Comedian Billy Eichner of Funny of Die & Fuse TV fame should be quite flattered every time he catches the new Burger King commercials. Eichner popularized “drive by” interviews in his “Billy On The Street” segment that included yelling, fast-talking, screaming and celebrities.
The commercial in question features a similar looking host, cut in a familiarly choppy way to the popular Funny or Die clips, see for yourself:
The only thing different is that the Burger King advert is missing the humor of the originals. Eichner reacted after seeing the ads calling the ads unfunny and accusing Burger King of a ripoff:
Hey @BurgerKing-thanks for stealing my act for ur new commercial!! Except its not as funny & everyone knows u stole it. GET YOUR OWN IDEAS.

As a results, Eichner received huge outpouring of support from his fans and many celebrities including Seth Rogan and Michael Ian Black:
Yo @BurgerKing, stop stealing from the hilarious @billyeichner and stick to what you're good at: giving me diarrhea.

Burger King hasn’t publicly responded to the accusations but another burger chain has spoken up: McDonald’s. The chain was responding to another of Eichner’s posts, where he thanked his fans and joked he’d see them at McDonald’s:
As annoying as it is to have Burger King rip me off, your tweets are incredible. I have the BEST fans on the planet!!! See u at McDonalds!

In reaction, McDonalds replied saying that it couldn’t wait to see the comedian come in, a reply he retweeted to all his fans:
@billyeichner Can’t wait to see you! Oh, and bring Elena!
