Today at Google I/O senior Vice-President of Social Business, Vic Gundotra, announced a long awaited feature for Google+, Google+ Events. The best part of Google+ events, the synchronization into Google Calendar. This was rumored a few weeks back, and is in fact true. If a user responds ‘yes’ to an event, it will automatically show up in their calendar.
If the Google calendar integration is the best feature of Google+ Events, a “themeing” ability has to be second place. Users will be able to set a specific theme for the event that will show in the invitation and event page. This theme will also be pulled into Google Calendar.
The events page will also allow users to post photos or go into “party mode” where you can quickly snap photos from your smartphone that go directly to the event page:
So basically the Google+ Events page can act as a photo gallery for everyone who actually intended the event. All photos will also show in chronological order so you can see just how exactly the event went down.
