Last month Twitter launched “Tailored Suggestions” to help make more relevant suggestions.  This month Tailored Trends will be added to help provide relevant trends to each user:

Trends Tailored

This has long been a headache for many users and trends simply didn’t apply to many.  The new tailored trends will now reference your geographic area and those you follow to determine the trend you’d be most receptive of.  So no longer will you be bombarded with other geographic trends or items that don’t pertain to your Twitter network.  This should also help local events/promotion/marketing as a much more niche audience can be reached thanks to the localization aspects tailored trends will bring.

Tailored trends will be rolling out gradually starting today.  For more information, see the Twitter blog.
