This week, Target has launched a goulishly great Instagram campaign that ties together Halloween, cooking and creativity. Full of holiday spirit, Target took to Instagram in a “choose your own adventure” format with a crafty payoff awaiting their followers.
In the campaign, Target has been releasing fun Halloween illustrations full of pumpkins, gouls, monsters and other assorted creatures that lead users to a craft or recipe that can be completed for the holiday.
Users are prompted to click once to “knock.” In doing so, Instagram tags will appear that send users to a unique Trick account or a unique Treat account. The trick will give the users a holiday-themed craft that can be completed with products from Target. The step-by-step instructions are laid out via individual Instagram photos in an easy-to-consume format:
On the other hand, when the user clicks on the “treat,” they are sent to a Halloween-themed recipe that is displayed in the same format:
In an interview with AdAge, Dustee T. Jenkins, VP of PR and Social at Target, gave the following quote: [blockquote]We really wanted to think outside of the box for Halloween and come up with something that would surprise and excite our guests at the same time.[/blockquote]
