Pinterest Streamlines & Simplifies Its Search Interface
New search enhancements from Pinterest make finding the right type of information quicker and more accurate thanks to the first ever inclusion of spellcheck.
When first launched, one of the biggest faults of Pinterest was the lackluster search experience. Thankfully those days are long behind us and a new change to Pinterest search may turn this former detractor into a major advantage.
The new search combines the former segmented “Pins, Pinners & Boards” tabs and combines into a uniform listing. Users will now see the inputted pin with pin suggestions, Pinners and Boards – each with the ability to dive deeper.
These changes are quite small, but very functional. Users can get where they’d like to go in less touches and for the first time ever, spellcheck is now included. Any user that is verified will appear in search with a check mark next to their name. Much like other social sites the starting search screen will feature trending searches to encourage additional exploration,
Lastly, once a search is completed, users can still filter by All Pins, Your Pins, Pinners or Boards if they don’t like the results.
