One of the driving features of Google+ has been the Circles product. A handful of enhancements are rolling out to further help users customize their connections. Sean Purcell, Google Product Manager, announced the improvements on the way Circles will work and additional ways to discover other users and brands.
Circle Enhancements
With the growing number of Google+ users and the addition of brand pages Circles could easily become bloated and difficult to navigate. Three main items are being rolled out to make Circles easier to use:
- A new left hand menu to help organize & display Circles
- Access to email address books from Circles screen
- Adaptive Circles that shrink to smaller screens
Finding Users & Brands
New additions are coming to the suggested users functionality which will occur directly in user Circles. Google+ users will have the ability to type in the name of a person/brand and have suggestions display alongside the search:
