Pinterest has allowed users to curate the best content from around the web in an organized fashion. As of today, it’s not just content that can be pinned, but also iPhone and iPad apps. This is a perfect match for the service, users can uncover a new app and quickly download from the “install” button on the Pinterest app.

This opens up new opportunities for Marketers, as they can now promote specific apps directly within Pinterest (and the end result of an app-install). Furthermore, this may be a significant revenue booster for the social giant as they may soon be able to enter the app-install marketplace.

While anyone can pin an app, Apple itself has a new App Store profile that leads to its boards and collections showcasing the new functionality.

In addition, Pinterest has created its own Staff Picks area.

This is the newest iteration of the “Rich Pins” and should be a useful one. For more information on the new App Pins, see the official post on Pinterest.
