Content Creation Platform Visage Launches Web-Based DIY Tool For Creating Data Graphics

In addition to rolling out its new image creator, the company announced $2.5 million in seed funding from Venture51 and K5 Ventures.

Content creation platform Visage has secured $2.15 million in seed funding from Venture51 and K5 Ventures, in addition to launching its web-based “do-it-yourself” tool for creating branded data graphics.

According to Visage, marketers can automatically create visuals around data, using its data graphic templates that include text graphics for adding quotes and other non-data content to an image.

“Each brand and business sits on rich insights from original market research, customer behavior and other compelling data,” says Visage CEO and founder Jason Lankow, “Turning those numbers into stories has fundamentally changed how we communicate – but has been relegated to analysts, data visualization practitioners and designers until now.”

Before launching Visage, Lankow founded Column Five, Inc., along with Ross Crooks, Josh Ritchie, Jake Burkett and Sean Parent. While leading Column Five, the team created custom content for a number of brands, including Microsoft, LinkedIn, Red Bull and Nike. Currently, Visage boasts a client list that includes VMware, Intuit and CareerBuilder.
