Pegasystems kicked off the Pegaworld user fest today by announcing a range of AI-powered tools designed to simplify how enterprises automate work, build applications and upgrade outdated systems. The updates center on expanding the Pega platform with intelligent agents that can work together across different parts of the business.

Coordinating AI agents

Agents are getting a lot of attention, but many companies are cautious about using them widely, mainly due to concerns about reliability and lack of control. To address that, Pega introduced the Agentic Process Fabric, a layer that helps coordinate AI agents, systems and data — whether built on Pega or not.

Unlike approaches that rely on AI to make decisions at runtime (which can be unpredictable), Pega’s model separates the logic from execution. Agents follow structured workflows designed in advance, reducing the chances of things going off track. Agentic Process Fabric supports open standards (such as MCP and A2A), built-in security and detailed audit trails. It’s set to launch in Q3 2025, but components like Pega Blueprint (below) are already available.

Smarter tools for app developers

Pega also added AI enhancements to App Studio, the Pega Infinity platform’s low-code development environment. The updates aim to make it easier and faster for developers to go from idea to production-ready applications.

They include an AI agent that offers real-time guidance while coding, automated data field mapping for integrations, AI-generated testing scenarios and initial UX suggestions developers can tweak as needed. These are scheduled to roll out with the next Pega Infinity release later this year.

New options for system integrators

Powered by Pega Blueprint lets system integrators plug their expertise and industry knowledge directly into the Blueprint design environment. They can build custom versions of Blueprint that reflect their best practices and use them to collaborate with clients and speed up project timelines. That lets users analyze legacy systems, prototype ideas in natural language and create tailored application designs—all within a shared tool.

Faster legacy system modernization

Pega Blueprint now supports deeper legacy system analysis. The updates let users upload older assets—like source code, screenshots and documents—and have the AI agent process them into a draft of a new, modern workflow.

This can reduce the time and effort typically required to modernize legacy systems, especially when documentation is limited or missing. The tools also help with data modeling and identifying integration points for new cloud-native applications. These capabilities are available now.
