A Adage Logorecent post from B.L. Ochman on Ad Age took a look at the semantics behind the jobs titles of those working in social media. Using FollowerWonk, Ochman pulled the precise titles of anyone that worked in a field related to social media.

The overall results showed 181,354 users that were on Twitter with the phrase “social media” in their job title, up from the 19,000 with “social media” in their title when they first began tracking in 2009. There are some of the top titles in 2012 according to Ochman’s list:

  1. Social Media Marketing
  2. Social Media Maven
  3. Social Media Ninja
  4. Social Media Evangelist
  5. Social Media Guru
