If you are a Facebook Advertiser that found yourself perplexed by your most recent ad receipt you can breathe a sigh of relief as the mix-up was likely the result of a system-wide issue. This issue delivered the wrong receipts and data to other advertisers that included the ad name, clicks, impressions and amounts causing much confusion.

Inaccurate Ads

Thankfully, this receipt issue had no outcome on the actual ad delivery or billing for your account. This issue has been resolved now, and Facebook released the following on the topic:

You may have received email receipts for advertising charges unrelated to your account. This was the result of a system issue that lasted a couple of hours yesterday. We want to assure you that you’ve only been charged for ads that ran on your own account and that this issue did not affect your ad delivery.

As always, you can find more information about your recent charges by visiting your Billing section of Ads Manager at https://www.facebook.com/ads/manage/billing.phpand clicking on the individual transactions listed.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

So, if you encountered a wonky receipt this week, don’t fret, but do perform your due diligence to ensure that Facebook did in fact iron out the kinks before you pay that bill.
