Latin Singer Prince Royce & Verizon Wireless Create Live #LatinGrammy Music Track
The telecom player is sponsoring 48 hours of live music programming which will respond to user's tweets.
During and leading up to the Latin Grammy broadcast, Verizon Wireless and Latin singer-songwriter Prince Royce will team to create the world’s first live-stream, 48-hour music track created in real time from tweets using the hashtag #LatinGrammy or #DroidTurbo.
The effort aims to highlight the 48-hour battery life of the Droid Turbo.
To create the soundtrack, Verizon Wireless will monitor social media conversations during the Latin Grammy broadcast and use selected tweets as lyrics for the soundtrack. The telecom player is using its @VerizonLatino Twitter account, which is focused on reaching Latino customers and prospects.
Here is how the promotion will roll out:
- Fans tweet about the Latin Grammys using #LatinGrammy or #DroidTurbo
- Verizon will monitor the conversation from a recording studio and select posts
- A singer takes the selected tweet and crafts a lyrical response
- @VerizonLatino tweets a response to the fan in a song with audio and video
- All song responses are added to an ongoing music track
- Fans can visit Turbo Soundtrack to hear the live streaming of the song that includes responses to their posts
While the phone’s battery does last 48 hours, every eight hours during the song, there will be a 15-minute “Turbo Remix” to highlight the device’s ability to get 8 hours of battery life from a single 15-minute charge.
Of his participation in the promotion, Royce said, I’m all about connecting with my fans so when Verizon came up with this cool new way to do so, I was all for it. I’m hoping they will enjoy it!”
This morning at 7:00 a.m. PST, the brand began collecting submissions and creating song lyrics on its @VerizonLatino Twitter account:
