Two new announcements were made today that will help ad agencies stay educated and up-to-date on products while also being heard.
Facebook Studio Edge is an addition to the Facebook Studio that will keep agencies up to speed on Facebook products and best practices. Facebook Studio was launched last year in April with a goal of helping agencies work more effectively with Facebook while showcasing top agency work. Facebook Studio was a big step for Facebook as they embraced brands instead of selling direct, and the Studio Edge will continue the relationship offering 10-15 minute interactive courses, exclusive to agencies.
The Facebook Studio is also being revamped with a new directory, agency listings including creative work and achievements:
The “Creative Council” was created to be both a sounding board for Facebook product ideas and agency needs. The Creative Council will serve as the creative counterpart to the 12-member Facebook Client Council. The initial Creative Council members are as follow:
- David Droga, Founder/CEO, Droga5
- Nick Law, CCO, R/GA
- Jeff Benjamin, CCO, JWT
- Colleen DeCourcy, Founder/CEO, Socialistic
- Linus Karlsson, CCO for Global Brands, McCann
- Mike Lazerow, Co-Founder/CEO, Buddy Media
- Rob Feakins, CCO/President, Publicis
- Mark Tutssel, CCO, Leo Burnett
- Amir Kassaei, WW CCO, DDB
- Mark Waites, CCO/Founder, Mother
- Toshiya Fukuda, CEO ECD, 777
- James Hilton, CCO, AKQA
- Rob Reilly, CCO, CPB
- Tor Myhren, CCO, Grey
Studio Edge will be soft-launched to select group of Facebook agency pilot partners over the next few weeks. The Creative Council will have its inaugural meeting at the Cannes Lions festival.
