OK, this is awesome. If you’re a gamer, you’ll love it. If you’re a gamer marketer, you’ll love it, too.

In an effort to bring gamers deep inside Activision’s Call of Duty, 72andSunny invented Randall Higgins, Killcameraman. You see, Higgins is the guy who photographs all the killcam shots inside the game. A guy dies, Higgins is there to capture it.

Apparently, killcameramen don’t get much love and, thankfully, it appears an agency has finally figured out the last thing we need in gamer marketing is yet another movie trailer epic-style drama. No, we need comedy! And Higgins delivers us just that. It’s like MacGyver crossed with Rambo crossed with Seth Rogen.

The purpose of the video is to call attention to the first downloadable content pack for Havoc, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The video, which features comedian Rob Huebel in the role of Randall Higgins, has achieved over 1 million views and 27,000 likes on YouTube.

The brand is promoting the video on its Twitter and Facebook pages and using the hashtag #AWHavoc:

On Facebook, the video has received 1,262,098 views, 34,217 likes, 3,383 comments and 14,528 shares.
