google-plus-red-128New versions of the Google+ app for Android and iPhone are now available, with updates to photo, post, profile and community features.

Users will have access to a selection of Snapseed’s photo-enhancement options within the Google+ app, including basic editing functions and the ability to choose filters like Drama and Retrolux. Saturation, contrast, brightness and other photo effects can be adjusted as well, along with a single tap feature that lets users compare an edited image with the original.

The new version of the Google+ app for Android will include more text up front on posts and prominently displayed 1+, reshare and comment buttons. Image previews will not be cropped, and users can swipe photo albums inline. Tapping a video, photo or link attachment will take a user directly to a watch page, lightbox or website.

Profile and community features are also getting updates with the option to list a current location on your Google+ profile. Once this option is enabled, users can determine who gets to see their location status by giving permission to contacts in their Google+ network.

Upgrades to the Google+ app community features allow users to control the volume of community posts in their home stream, invite people to a community, and reshare items with a community. Member search and content moderation actions now can be performed from an iPhone or Android device, in addition to report-remove-ban support for community managers.
