Twitter unveiled a new way that people can pin apps on their Twitter profile pages called App Spotlight. This appears to be in addition to pinning tweets to the top of a profile page.

Announced at the Twitter Flight developers conference today in San Francisco, the new feature enables people to install apps directly from within a Twitter profile. You can see an example of it here:

Twitter also said there are new Timeline Install Actions coming that will allow installation from timelines without apparently leaving the timeline.
