The 2025 AMA Marketing Skills Report identifies the skills marketers need to thrive today and in the future. The report is based on a survey of more than 1,200 marketers, more than 450 job postings and interviews with industry experts.
When it comes to job-specific skills, the largest current competency gaps are in digital marketing, data and analytics, proving ROI and data privacy and compliance. Marketers are not fully equipped to meet the demands of these roles today, the report found.
