Lowe’s Adds Instagram Hyperlapse Videos to Award-Winning #LowesFixInSix Vine Series
Think you need fancy technology to do video marketing? The home improvement store and agency BBDO once again show that an iPhone will do just fine.
Lowe’s and BBDO New York have seemingly mastered the art form of the short-form instructional video. Leveraging Vine to share helpful, do-it-yourself tips has, in the past, landed the brand and the agency a Bronze Cyber Lion at Cannes and a Silver Clio and a Mashies Best in Show. The helpful-hint videos were tagged #LowesFixInSix.
A new effort, in time for the holiday season, extends the brand’s “Fix in Six” Vine effort and adds Instagram Hyperlapse video into the mix. (Hyperlapse is Instagram’s app that allows people to easily make time-lapse videos.)
The brand is out with three new Vine videos and three new Hyperlapse videos. The Vine videos are tagged #TapThruHowTo and the Instagram Hyperlapse videos are tagged #HyperMade.
The Vine videos instruct viewers how to make a fire pit, a kitchen backsplash and a shelf made out of pipes.
The Vine videos have been emblazoned with a “Tap Thru” graphic reminding viewers they can use the built-in tap-to-pause/play feature to move through the videos step by-step.
The Instagram Hyperlapse videos instruct viewers how to make wall art using lattice, how to make under bed drawers out of old bureau drawers and how to make a bench out of pipes.
Collectively, the Vine videos have been liked 11,217 times and revined 845 times. The Instagram Hyperlapse videos have been liked 2,428 times, collectively.
