George Takei Presents #OdesFromTheCode For H&R Block
It's tax season, which means the biggies are waging a marketing war for the honor of handling your return.
In an effort to, you know, make taxes hip…or something like that…H&R Block, working with Fallon, has hooked up with Star Trek alum and social media maven George Takei for a series of tax code videos.
The video campaign, tagged #OdesFromTheCode, features Takei reciting some of the over 4 million words which make up the United States tax code. He touches on tanning salons, contests, taxidermy and private foundations.
The campaign’s goal is to inform the tax paying public that H&R Block understands each and every one of those 4 million words in the tax code and that this knowledge can be put to use to properly provide tax filing services.
Takei is promoting the campaign on his Twitter and Facebook pages:
I had no idea the Tax Code had a sense of humor until I did these ads… and got to wear a party hat. #OdesFromTheCode http://t.co/RCO55tnCMc

And H&R Block is doing its part promoting the campaign on its social channels as well:
