Yesterday Facebook profile analytics took a step up with the release of WolframAlpha personal analytics. Logged in members (tied to the WollframAlpha Facebook app) simply have to enter “facebook report” into the search bar to get a variety of statistics about your profile.

True to the mission of WolframAlpha, the new service is data-driven an ties into various knowledge domains.  Not only can you see some basics like the demographics of friends, weekly app activity, photo dates/times and geographic data, but also activity data. Personal analytics tracks all types of posts and displays data across a variety of views.  For instance, I found that people love photos of my dog, that I get the best interaction on weekdays from 3-6pm and which posts perform the best.

One of the more intriguing elements is that WolframAlpha shows user friend networks.  I separate users by a variety of categories (Industry folks, College, High School Friends ..etc) and Personal Analytics shows the relationships between all along with your relationship with each.  The charts lets users see who they have the best relationship and even offers a “member view.”

To see other friend data, users can also type in “facebook friends” and view data for each of their firends.  Typically this process shows less data as the majority of users have restricted settings.



The service is free to all WolframAlpha users. There is no word on whether or not a version will be release for business pages, however Stephen Wolfram did state that this is just the beginning of the analytics that they will be offering.
