Updated Twitter Summary Cards Display More Link Content In The Timeline For Mobile Users

Links on the Twitter app will soon begin to display more information to users, thanks to a new Summary Card format.

Twitter users on the go will now see more information on a Tweeted link before they tap through. The Summary Cards will appear directly in the user timelines and will ditch the URL from the Tweet, but display information from the link directly on the card in a Facebook-like format.*

Previously users were required to tap on a Tweet in order to see the full card.

This new format should be a boon for those marketers leveraging Summary Cards that spend time crafting their images and titles, as they’ll garner far more real estate, which should drive more traffic.



This change will begin launching today on both Android and iOS for users who upgrade their Twitter apps.
