Nearly 6 months ago, Twitter purchased mobile ad startup MoPub for a reported $350M to help bolster their overall mobile offerings. Today, Twitter is making good use of this acquisition with the launch of a new mobile app promotion suite and the announcement of the Twitter Publisher Network.

The new suite not only follows suit with Facebook-like App Ads for Installs, but also helps promotes apps outside of Twitter thanks to the MoPub network.

The mobile app promotion suite consists of targeting, creative and measurement tools to help push mobile apps. Right now this is in private beta but an example of a app install ad can be seen above.

The Twitter Publisher Network will give Twitter a large new source for revenue generation. Right now, the MoPub Marketplace has a reach of over 1 billion unique devices across Android and iOS making it one of the largest mobile ad exchanges in the world. Advertisers will be able to harness this inventory and all other on-Twitter placements through one simple location, the ads.twitter.com interface. An example of an Ad on the Twitter publisher network can be seen above.

This is a big new revenue opportunity for Twitter, see the full blog post on the Twitter blog.
