It seems that Twitter really wants you to sign onto Twitter.com. After introducing a splashy new profile design Tuesday, it announced today that users who sign in on Twitter.com will get real-time activity notifications.
The feature, which Twitter said will be rolled out “over the coming weeks,” will send users a notification when someone replies to, favorites or retweets a tweet. The notifications will be fully interactive; users will be able to reply, favorite, RT and follow from the notification.
