Snapchat users can now get a different angle and perspective on a particular story with “Story Explorer.” Users will be able to explore a specific story by swiping up when an “Explore” tab is present on a particular story.

Story Explorer uses technology built to add a different point of view to a story. Think about watching the final moment of a sporting event from various seats, or getting different points of view around a breaking news story. This feature will bring an additional layer to stories, something that Twitter Moments doesn’t offer. Users can check out “Explorer” in action when browsing the live New York and Los Angeles stories, with the addition of more stories soon.

Overall, this is a very nice feature, and if executed well, it could be a major draw in the real-time breaking event space. The ability to tie varying perspectives angles to a specific event in real time currently doesn’t exist. Brands and companies, especially those that run live events, should pay close attention to this feature so they can harness the crowdsourced perspective.
