Today at TechCrunch Disrupt, two major enhancements were announced for Google+ that are geared toward bolstering sharing and making authorship attribution easy. The one commonality between the two updates? They work outside of Google+, one change affects webmasters and the other can been seen within the Search Engine Results Pages.

Embedded Posts

On the heels of Facebook yet again, all Google+ posts can now be embedded onto a third party site. To embed a post, simply find the post on Google+ and select the “Embed post” from the drop=down menu. You can then copy the code and paste onto your website.

The embedded posts come packed with functionality as well. Users will be able to share, +1 and comment the embedded posts. The embeds work on all types of posts including text, photos and videos.Copy of si_embedded_post

Automatic Authorship With Google+ Sign-in

If you use Google+ sign-in, soon you’ll  no longer need to worry about your authorship attribution. Google Authorship will be automatically added for your account if signed in, no email confirmation or authorship tags required. This will be debuted on two platforms starting today, WordPress and Typepad. When active, you’ll see the author name alongside their listing in the Search Engine Results Pages.
