First, those getting Google Glass within the Explorer group are those who signed up at Google I/O last year. They have been notified one by one, typically in order of their Glass number, to pick up the Glass at one of Google’s offices, typically in Mountain View or New York City.

Another group of Explorers are those who were selected through the #ifihadglass contest. That group hasn’t been included in this first round of distribution.

Who has picked up Google Glass? Some of the more popular names include Tim O’Reilly and Robert Scoble. But there are dozens of early adopters who have already picked them up that are not internet celebrities like Tim and Robert.

How do I know who picked them up? There is a Google+ community for Glass Explorers where people are sharing pictures from when they picked up Glass, how they’ve been using it and what their impressions are of it.

For the more animated and detailed feedback on Google Glass, I would see Scoble on Google+, he talked about reactions he gets from people, using it in public bathrooms, or using it as a journalist, driving with it, crashing it and obviously picking it up.

Tim O’Reilly posted his thoughts on Google+ explaining the privacy concerns are a bit overblown, it is not distracting during conversations and the speech component is excellent.

Then there are lesser known people like +Laura Ockel, +Bryan Liles, +Abhijit Dhakne, +Brandon Allgood, +Ethan Bresnick, +Jim McNelis and many others who picked up their Google Glass.

I have posted pictures of unboxing and pick up and you can find a lot more in the Glass Explorer Google+ Community.
