Instagram Search Arrives For Web Users

Desktop Instagramers will now have the ability to search hashtags, locations & accounts thanks to a new search feature for the web.

Back in 2013, Instagram moved from an app-only to a full-feed experience for Web users. While users could browse accounts and their own feed, search wasn’t an option. Until today.

Instagram-SEarch

Instagram users can now search by hashtags, locations or users. An icon will appear on the left of the query as a location or hashtag search, and the user avatar will show if the query matches a user. The location pages are slick, featuring a map and posts that occurred in a specific location.

Niagara-Falls

This addition is now live for Web users. The search box is displayed in the center of the header at the top of the page.
