Top 10 video creators in May: BuzzFeed Tasty hits 5-month streak at No. 1

No other video creator has yet to take the top spot from BuzzFeed's food-focused channel so far this year.

BuzzFeed Tasty remains the most popular video creator this year, earning 1.9 billion video views across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Vine in May.

This is the fifth month in a row the food-focused video creator has earned the top spot on Tubular Lab’s most-watched video creators monthly top 10 list. In addition to its nearly two billion views, the channel averaged 26 million views per video, according to Tubular Labs’ data.

LADBible and Unilad switched position since April, with Unilad ranking No. 2 last month and LADBible at No. 3. The three top video creators — BuzzFeed Tasty, Unilad and LADBible — each generated more than a billion views during May.

Vlechten met Daan, NowThis, Tastemade and BuzzFeed Video remained in the top 10, with newcomer FailArmy taking the No. 5 spot with 800 million views.

Tubular says the top 100 video brands in May earned a combined 41.2 billion views, along with an engagement rating of 1.3x — meaning that the top 100 videos produced content that was 1.3 times more engaging than the average video.

Looking specifically at brands with the most video views in May, Red Bull and Lego remained in the top two spots, with Red Bull taking the lead over Lego since April.

Facebook, which had ranked No. 3 in April, dropped to No. 10 last month. A number of new brands broke into the top 10 list for May, including App Store, Scorp App, The White House, Instagram, PETA and Call of Duty.
