Welcome to another edition of This Week On Vine. Big this week, Father’s Day, claymation to celebrate Vine’s five-month anniversary, Burberry’s menswear show in six seconds, the O Music Awards drumathon, Oreo Snack Hacks, Sainsbury’s strawberry surprise and Breaking Bad tries to break Vine.

Father’s Day

The week started off with Father’s Day, and PBS, Nordstrom and Samsung all had virtual cards they shared on Vine:

Vine’s 5th Month

Vine celebrated a different holiday, its 5-month birthday, by thanking its followers for the ongoing growth:

It also commissioned a new claymation piece by all-star Vine creator Ian Padgham

Of course Ian is probably best known for this piece where he “plays with” cars in the streets of San Francisco. This Vine has been shared over 6,000 times and continues to make the rounds.

Fast Fashion

The fashion industry was quick to establish itself on Vine, so it’s not unusual to see clips from the London Collections: Men event, but Burberry raised the bar with this one. Closing the show in style, they’ve captured the entire S/S14 Menswear show in 6 seconds. We applaud the inventiveness and creativity involved – not to mention the timing!

Drumathon!

MTV and VH1 hosted The O Music Awards which featured the Jonas Brothers and culminated in a 24-hour drumathon by AndrewWK with guest cameos from Cuba Gooding Jr. and Questlove:

Wimbledon & Sainsbury’s Has Strawberries

It’s tennis season and excited fans will know that Wimbledon opens its doors on 24th June. Here we see Rafael Nadal, the “king of clay” warming up and getting ready for the tough battles to come on grass:

But it’s not all serious business preparing for Wimbledon. Brits are hoping this time, Andy Murray can go all the way, after emerging victorious at Queen’s Club. So of course, while Rafael Nadal is out warming up, Andy is having a break while showing Adidas UK his ball handling skills. No pressure Andy!

What’s Wimbledon known for other than tennis and the rain? Strawberries and cream of course! Here we see UK supermarket, Sainsburys promoting British strawberries arriving in stores. The tweet was ‘promoted’ on Twitter and also asked users to follow and RT to win a £10 gift voucher. We know that engagement on promoted tweets is significantly higher when a vine is also included within the tweet. This effort saw 1500+ retweets.

Speaking Of Snacks

Feeling hungry? Established social media powerhouse Oreo is bringing the awesome to the Vine party with their series of #OreoSnackHacks. Have you ever thought about adding milk and cookie cubes to your iced coffee? Here’s a 6 second how-to which is making us both hungry and thirsty at the same time.

Breaking Vine

Last but not least, AMC shows us who’s bad– with this loop from their TV series, Breaking Bad
