Preview: The Marketing Land #HashtagBowl Live Blog With Guest Digital Luminaries

Here's what you can expect when you tune in Sunday to our live coverage of the Super Bowl ads and more.

Do you feel your heartbeat speeding up? We’ve only got a couple of days left before the big game… I mean, of course, the big ads.

We at Marketing Land are especially excited to be hosting a live blog discussion with some eminent digital media experts as part of our #HashtagBowl coverage.

They will be sharing their thoughts on the ads as they run, on the overall campaigns — including digital teasers and integrations — as well as on the real-time action on Twitter, Facebook, and more.

Joining us on the live blog will be Nick Pahade, CEO of PopTent, Susan Beebe, social media and online communities manager for Tyson Foods, Peter Shankman, a well-known customer service and social media consultant, and James Green, CEO of retargeting company Magnetic and a regular contributor here at Marketing Land. I’ll be participating as your host.

Nick Pahade is a long time presence on the digital media scene having served in executive positions in numerous top media agencies including Initiative Media, Traffiq and Denuo. Currently, he is chief executive officer at PopTent, a startup focusing on digital video marketing.

Susan Beebe made her name in social media when she became “chief listener” at Dell, launching the computer company’s global Social Media Listening Command Center and ushering in an unprecedented level of transparency and genuineness at a critical time for the company (remember “Dell hell”?). Now she runs social media and communities for Tyson Foods, where her responsibilities include acting as an internal consultant for stakeholders across the company, which brings in annual revenues of $38 billion.

Peter Shankman is perhaps best known for founding Help A Reporter Out, a service which has helped thousands of journalists and marketers connect. He’s a consultant and trainer and he has just published his fourth book, Zombie Loyalists, which explores how customer service is the front line of brand building in today’s business world.

Besides being a regular contributor to Marketing Land on display advertising, James Green is CEO of Magnetic, a search retargeting company. He began his career in the entertainment industry, spending eight years at the Walt Disney Company and then working for Steve Jobs as VP of marketing and new business development at Pixar Animation Studios. In the digital marketing space, he’s had founder and executive positions at Sabela Media, 24/7 Real Media, GiantBear and Giant Realm.

So, as you can see, we’ve got a very qualified cast of commentators, and we’ll also be bringing in Marketing Land’s official Tweet stream, where our community manager, Lauren Donovan, will be keeping an eye on, sharing and participating in the real-time action. Send your questions and comments on the live blog content to @MarketingLand and we’ll incorporate them as appropriate.

In addition to the Twitter action, we’ll be curating and sharing developments from other social channels as well as instant stats regarding the ads’ effectiveness as they become available.

Pamela Parker is Research Director at Third Door Media's Content Studio, where she produces MarTech Intelligence Reports and other in-depth content for digital marketers in conjunction with Search Engine Land and MarTech.
