With more than fifteen years of online marketing communications experience, Robert Patterson leads MMGY Global’s practices in content and social media marketing. Serving as the VP of Content and Social Strategy for MMGY, Robert helps consumers connect with travel brands and each other to inspire and share travel experiences.

Prior to MMGY, Robert led digital strategy for an online travel agency. He has spearheaded social and digital strategy for MMGY clients such as the Lufthansa, Colorado Tourism Office, Marriott Resorts and many others. Robert is a thought leader in the travel industry on the impact of social media, and regularly speaks at national and international conferences including Facebook Global Travel Marketing Summit, Eye for Travel, eTourism, Social Media Tourism Symposium, state and CVB tourism conferences.

Robert was selected by Google earlier this year to join the Google Glass Explorer program and is currently reviewing the potential impact of Google’s wearable technology on the travel industry. His favorite things about Google Glass are the ability to be connected and share hands-free as he travels, along with the Glass smart data that enables local discovery.
