Today Facebook has officially rolled out (and improved) their audience capabilities that were announced last October for general use. This release is far and away the most sophisticated social advertising product to date. Advertisers can harness the existing functionality of Custom Audiences, use the Facebook remarketing pixel on their site or app for detailed tracking and then customize an offer directly to that Facebook user.

Once the tracking code has been placed within the site or mobile app, Custom Audiences of users & visitors can be built around specific actions. In the example above, Jack Threads, a clothing company, is advertising to those that added a product, but never checked out with a specific message and the “Shop Now” call to action (CTA) button.

A nice feature of Custom Audiences is the seamless targeting across platforms. These features will be available on Power Editors, Ads Manager, the API and through PMDs. The new enhanced CTAs that can be used on Page post ads include:

  • Shop Now
  • Learn More
  • Book Now
  • Download
