These new university pages will help students make the right decision on schooling and will allow bolster the communication from universities to students. Here is some of the functionality of this new format:
- School Updates & Engagement
The pages will allow schools to make regular posting like a typical LinkedIn Company as well as answer questions and display pertinent information. - Search Universities
LinkedIn will allow users to explore universities by searching by locations and careers across the globe.
- View Notable Alumni
LinkedIn leverages its career data here, showing previous notable alumni, the breakdown of careers chosen and current employers. This feature will likely be main reason that folks use LinkedIn Education. Prospective students can connect and build relationships before even stepping foot in a classroom.
High school students will be able to use LinkedIn starting on September 12th, and many current schools have already built out their pages. For more information see the official blog post.
