Good morning, Marketers, and not a good week for technology.

Where is the next bad news coming from? Okay, probably Twitter, but other than that? While Elon Musk develops innovative ways of getting rid of staff (“Hey, work long hours in a toxic environment!”), Amazon promises more layoffs on top of the 10,000 already announced. I wonder if they’ll pause the TV commercials about what a great place it is to work?

With Google and Meta also suffering economic hits, we’re nervous for the martech space of course. However, the chief economist at Goldman Sachs points out that there are plenty of tech job openings out there and that tech troubles have historically not been indicators of a more general downturn in the economy. Let’s hope not.
